Wellness Visits & Exams
Prevention is becoming a very important aspect of all of our lives. This applies to our pets as well.
Our beloved animal family members age more rapidly than humans, therefore, regular physical examinations and lab work are the best way to identify and prevent health issues before they become a problem later in life.
Regularly scheduled examinations can identify problems as they arise. This allows you to be proactive in assuring your pet a longer, healthier life. Preventing health issues is one of the most important things that you can do for your pet.
Our preventive care program consists of annual and semi-annual physical examinations, vaccinations, heart worm testing, parasite testing, dental check ups, diagnostic lab tests, and nutritional counseling. We will also help you keep up with your pet's health needs by mailing, e-mailing and texting you reminders throughout the year.
Vaccinations play a critical role in how our pets stay healthy through all of their life stages.
Puppies and kittens can begin their vaccinations as early as 6 weeks of age. Typically, they receive vaccine boosters every 4 weeks until they are approximately 18 weeks of age.

Some vaccinations, like Rabies, have age restrictions and cannot be given until at least 12 weeks of age. The frequency in which your pet needs their Rabies vaccine may also vary depending on where you live: The State of Texas allows each city and municipality to set their own standards regarding this issue, so if you're unsure as to how often to booster your pet's Rabies vaccine, contact us and we'll be glad to help.

Regardless of a pet's age, it is considered good medicine to keep them current on vaccines. Older pets who aren't susceptible to falling ill with disease can still be carriers of the illnesses to younger or less healthy pets. and, in general, it's worth it to abide by the old adage that prevention is worth a pound of the cure.
